How are your patterns different from traditional sewing patterns?

All our patterns use simple, easy to understand language and include a detailed step by step sewing tutorial.

What exactly do I receive when I purchase a pattern?

You will receive PDF files of your chosen pattern in A4, US Letter, A0, and Projector formats along with a detailed written tutorial with step by step photographs.

Do I need any special software to view and use your sewing patterns?

We recommend that you open our sewing patterns using Adobe Acrobat Reader.  There is a free version available here - PDF reader: The original PDF solution | Adobe Acrobat Reader

Once opened, you can print the patterns at home, send to a specialist printer or use your home projector.

Which Version of the Pattern do I need to use?

All our patterns contain A4, US Letter, A0 and Projector formats.

If you are in the UK and wish to print the pattern at home you should use the A4 file.  If you are the US and wish to print the pattern at home you should use the US Letter file.  If you wish to send the pattern to a printers or copy shop to have it printed on a large sheet of paper, you should use the A0 file.  If you have a home projector and wish to project the pattern onto the fabric instead of printing it, then you should use the projector file.

Why do you not use conventional sizing?

At SirenStitch Patterns we are passionate about body positivity. We want the focus to be on our customers making clothes that make them look and feel amazing. Traditional sewing pattern sizes often make women feel like they are taking larger sizes than they would usually wear. By giving our sizes names rather than numbers we are taking the focus off the size and concentrating on getting the best fit for your body shape.  To do this you should take accurate body measurements for Bust, Waist and Hip and use the corresponding size from our size chart. If your measurements fall into different sizes we encourage you to grade between sizes and all our patterns include instructions on how to do this.

Do the patterns include seam allowance?

Yes a seam allowance is included for all patterns - 3/8inch (1 cm) for stretch fabrics and 0.5 inch/1.3 cm for woven fabrics unless otherwise stated on the pattern.
